The Memramcook Fire Department is responsible for providing fire protection and emergency services for the Village de Memramcook. It is entirely made up of volunteer firefighters. Currently, the Fire Department has 41 volunteer firefighters devoted to protecting the wellbeing and safety of Memramcook residents. They meet once a week, except during the summer (for a break) to train, practice and maintain their equipment.
There are two fire stations: the main station is in the former Village de Saint-Joseph and the second one is in the former Village de Pré-d'en-Haut. The Memramcook fire station has 3 firefighting trucks and two rescue trucks (equipped with the Jaws of Life, a defibrillator and other rescue equipment). The fire department also has an ATV (4 wheel) to respond to off-road calls.
The Pré-d'en-Haut fire station has two firefighting trucks and one rescue truck.
The Memramcook Fire Department is affiliated with the 911 system and during fires, accidents, emergencies or medical calls is always the first on scene. The Department has the necessary equipment and training needed to fully manage a situation until an ambulance arrives. In 2015, the Memramcook Fire Department responds to approximately 240 calls per year.
