This Sunday, August 30th at 11:00 a.m., at the Saint-Thomas church in Memramcook, Père Emery Brien will celebrate his last mass before retiring.

A key figure in community life in Memramcook, Père Emery Brien spent 28 years of his life there, spread over seven decades.

His history with Memramcook dates back to the late 1950s, when he arrived in Pré-d'en-Haut to pursue his training. A few years later, he became a professor of mathematics at the Collège Saint-Joseph, before returning to Memramcook several times throughout his career, notably at the parish of Saint-Thomas, Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes and the Unité pastorale Sainte-Croix, where he has been present since 2016.

Over the years, Père Brien has seen Memramcook evolve and rubbed shoulders with several generations of people here. The Village de Memramcook would like to thank him for his many years of presence and dedication within our community.

Well known for his love of music and cycling, Père Brien has participated in the recording of several albums with young people from the region. A passionate cyclist, he has regularly crisscrossed the roads of our beautiful valley. As recently as August 25th, he was still enjoying a 25 km bike ride!

After mass, a small snack is planned around 12 p.m. Everyone is invited to come and greet Père Brien and wish him a happy retirement!

Happy retirement, Père Brien!
