As a councillor since 2016, Mariane is in her second consecutive term with the municipality. She also served as deputy mayor from 2018 to 2020 and 2021 to 2023. In addition to her duties as a councillor, she sits on the Abbey-Landry Parental Committee, is the secretary-treasurer for the Southeast Social Pediatric Centre, and represents the southeast region for the AFMNB (Association francophone des municipalités du Nouveau-Brunswick) for a second term. She serves on the Strategic and Human Resources Committee for the AFMNB, in addition to working on gender equality issues for the same organization. She is also a member of an advisory committee on Pay Equity led by the New Brunswick Coalition for Pay Equity, and will join Beal University’s Advisory Committee on Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility.

In addition to her responsibilities as a councillor, Mariane has been working as an executive administrative assistant for the executive management and members of the New Brunswick Health Council since 2008. She is passionate about health and everything relating to families and children, and is committed to developing Memramcook’s parks and trails network, as well as its tourism sector by promoting products by local producers. Agritourism and bicycle tourism are for her goldmines waiting to be developed in the community.

Living in the Beaumont area for 15 years with her partner Jason, she is the young mother of a little girl, Jade. Mariane loves to travel with her family and the outdoors, whether it be camping, kayaking, biking, skiing or hiking in the woods in summer or winter. For her, women in politics are essential to effective representation and that’s why she encourages women to get more involved in politics.
