2025 Collection Schedule
The Village de Memramcook runs a door-to-door weekly waste and recyclables collection program.
The three stream collection program is now mandatory and allows you to do your part in helping the environment. You separate your organics, recyclables and garbage by placing them in the appropriate transparent green, blue or clear garbage bags. The 3-Bag Waste Sorting System is designed to make sorting waste in your home easier than ever before. Use the new Sorting Guide to quickly find out what goes where. On garbage pick-up day, place your bags by the roadside. Your waste will then be collected and transported by a private contractor, Fero Waste and Recycling Inc., to Southeast Eco360, a 3 bag waste sorting facility.
Good waste management contributes to the quality of our environment. The recovery of recyclable materials not only reduces the amount of waste land filled, but it also reduces the cost of household waste removal. Waste removal is regulated by by-law no 34 - A by-law relating to the collection and disposal of waste in the Village of Memramcook.
Southeast Eco360 is responsible for solid waste management in our region. When waste arrives at Recycle SENB's facility, recyclables are sorted in order to collect more than 30 different kinds of recyclable materials. Compostable materials collected in the green bags are processed and transformed into rich compost.

Tips to prevent items from being left at the curb:
- All regular garbage, organics and recyclables must be placed in clear bags of the correct color (clear, green and blue, respectively).
- Materials must be deposited before 4 a.m. on your regular collection day.
- Each bag must weigh no more than 18 kg (40 lb).
- Black bags will not be collected.
- Household hazardous, commercial and demolition waste cannot be collected curbside.
Special Garbage - Important update
Please note that the two annual special garbage collections will no longer take place.
Starting March 3, 2025, special fall and spring collections will be discontinued. Instead, you will now have the option to place one (1) bulky item at the curb during regular clear bag garbage collection weeks. This change allows for more frequent disposal of bulky waste rather than waiting for a specific collection date.
If the truck is full and unable to collect your bulky item during regular pickup, the contractor will return once space is available (within 24 hours). Whenever possible, metal items will be collected separately by a different truck.
To ensure your item is collected, attach a "Take Me" sign to anything that could be mistaken for an outdoor belonging (e.g., a wheelbarrow).
Accepted Bulky Items
Except for large objects, waste must be placed in boxes, bags, or securely tied bundles not exceeding 40 lbs or 4 ft in length. Broken glass and sharp objects must be wrapped carefully to prevent injuries. Metal items are usually collected the day after regular pickup as they are transported to a different location.
During clear bag garbage collection weeks, residents may dispose of one (1) bulky item, including:
- Appliances: Freezer, washing machine, refrigerator, stove, microwave, barbecue (propane tanks not accepted).
- Furniture: Mattress, box spring, sofa, chairs, tables.
- Electronics: Televisions, radios.
- Yard Waste: Bags of garden debris, bundled branches (max. 4 ft length, 40 lbs).
- Construction Materials: Plaster, drywall, fiberglass insulation, lumber, concrete, and other construction, renovation, or demolition waste (bundled; max. 4 ft length, 40 lbs).
- Tires
- Boxes (must not contain liquid).
- Sports Equipment: Bicycle, basketball hoop, hockey or soccer net.
- Children's Items: Stroller, large toys.
Bulky Items NOT Accepted
The following items cannot be placed at the curb for bulky waste collection:
❌ Large trees, vehicles, snowmobiles
❌ Rocks, gravel, sand, manure
❌ Animal carcasses, fuel tanks, propane tanks
❌ Hazardous, commercial, and demolition waste
