Tuesday Talk with Raymond Breau

Monument-Lefebvre – www.monumentlefebvre.ca / 758-9808

Table-ronde avec Raymond Breau - The summer of 2021 marks the 50th anniversary of Raymond Breau's debut album, the first album of original French songs by an Acadian singer-songwriter. To mark this event, Carol Doucet, director of Le Grenier musique, will host a round table on the subject, which will be followed by the launch of Raymond Breau's most recent book and a short performance by the artist.

Raymond Breau became the first Acadian songwriter, in 1970, to record his songs. In 1976, he created in his native village, his song box, La Grange à Johnny, where he presented shows until 2009. For more than ten years, he devoted himself entirely to song by presenting shows through Canada and the United States. He appeared on numerous radio and television shows, and in 1979 he hosted Coup d’œil, a daily variety show on Radio-Canada television in Moncton. Released in 2014, L'Essentiel is a compilation of his three recordings.
