The Village de Memramcook's Council knows how important it is to safeguard the security of its residents and to contribute to bettering their quality of life. The Council is asking for your help in accomplishing this. It is asking that you manage your dogs so that our neighborhoods are safe and enjoyable. All dog owners must be respectful of their surroundings and must ensure that their dog or dogs are under control at all times.
Rabies Vaccination and Dog Licenses
What is rabies? Rabies is a viral illness that attacks the nervous system. Untreated, it can be fatal both to animals and to humans. Prevention and awareness are the two best ways to beat rabies. We must take all the necessary precautions to safeguard our community and our pets from this virus. It's rather easy: it's a rabies vaccination.
When Must Dog Licenses Be Acquired?
Each and every owner must
license their dog or dogs with the municipality by March 31
st of each year (for the period of January 1 to December 31 of the current year). A valid rabies vaccination certificate must be provided before a license can be bought.
Where can Dog Licenses Be Acquired?
Through Anne Robichaud, the Animal Control Officer, at 506-863-4411, OR at the Municipal Building (540 Centrale Street) during municipal business hours, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The main goal of dog licenses is to make sure that all dogs in the Village de Memramcook are vaccinated against rabies. The tag on a dog's collar will also help us find a dog's owner if it is lost or roaming the streets.
